Initial Bird Town efforts included the education of property owners to the importance of enhancing their properties for the benefit of birds and other wildlife. Despite dealing with the challenges posed by the COVID pandemic, Tiadaughton Audubon moved ahead with an initiative to help make the Tioga/Potter County Visitors Bureau “bird safe.”
They worked to have the entryway doors and windows in the building treated with Collidescape to mitigate bird collisions with the windows and glass doors. The building then served as an ”exhibit” to the community to encourage property owners to follow the lead. Informational brochures and other outreach tools were used to have other property owners consider alternatives for their own properties.
